Shrinking Your Carbon Footprint
Actions we all take every day can help reduce our carbon footprint. Here are four simple ways you can help.

Turn things off when they are not being used. Of course that means lights, but it also means video games, computers, televisions, and radios. |
Drink your own tap water instead of purchasing water from other places. That bottled water has to be transported, which usually burns gasoline. And it requires plastic bottles that are piling up in our land fills. If you don’t like the taste of your tap water, get a filtering pitcher or add some flavored, powered drink mix. |
Compact fluorescent light bulbs take one-quarter as much energy as standard ones. Look for places where the trade can be made, and suggest it to whomever buys the bulbs at your house. |
Recycle paper, plastic, aluminum cans, glass -- whatever your community makes available. |
